It produces a fine, sandy or grain-like surface that can highlight brush marks, layering and dimensional decoration.
Can it be used as an underglaze?
Yes.
It can be used beneath a compatible glaze, or it can be left unglazed to showcase its natural textured surface.
Can I leave it unglazed?
Yes. This is one of the distinctive features of the product.
Leaving the surface unglazed allows the tactile texture and brushwork to remain visible.
​Is it suitable for tableware?
We do not recommend YMCK Textured Sand Underglaze for food-contact surfaces or functional tableware.
Its textured surface is primarily intended for decorative ceramic artwork, sculptural pieces and non-food-contact areas.
